When Shadows Awaken The Moment Varsapura Reveals Its True Face

A cinematic deep dive into HoYoverse’s next flagship action RPG The darkness in Varsapura is never merely absence it is intention. And in this 30-minute Official Gameplay Showcase , that intention becomes visible. As the first scene fades in, the city breathes like a living organism, its veins filled with shadowlight and its heartbeat echoing through metallic streets. The player enters not as a wanderer, but as an operative standing between Shadow Bureau and the enigmatic organization SEAL  two forces shaping the destiny of a city that hides more than it reveals. Built entirely on Unreal Engine 5 , Varsapura abandons the pastel fantasy style familiar to HoYoverse and embraces a darker, sharper, hyper-real urban identity. The city is drenched in motion reflections ripple across neon puddles, steel shivers under rainfall, and the shadow-born enemies pulse with unnatural rhythm. And at the center of it all? A weapon disguised as an ordinary umbrella , capable of bending shadows...

“Rusty Rabbit”: The Robot Bunny Who Digs Through Grief, Memory, and Steel Why This Game Deserves Your Attention in 2025

A post-apocalyptic world. A forgotten daughter. A grieving father in a machine. And yes he’s a rabbit.

In the vast sea of 2025 game releases, one title is quietly tunneling its way into the hearts of gamers who crave both emotion and action: Rusty Rabbit. This side-scrolling adventure from Nitro Plus blends classic metroidvania mechanics with heartfelt storytelling, set against the backdrop of a mechanical world where rabbits rule what humanity left behind.

From the mind of Gen Urobuchi (yes, the writer behind Madoka Magica and Psycho-Pass), Rusty Rabbit may look like a quirky indie on the surface, but don't be fooled this one cuts deep.

🎥 Watch the official trailer: https://youtu.be/akr5VtCg3VA

A World Abandoned by Humans… And Inherited by Rabbits

In Rusty Rabbit, humanity is gone. Long gone. In their place, rabbits now scurry across rusted cities and forgotten megastructures. They speak of the vanished humans as "giants," and their relics are sacred ruins.

Our protagonist, Stamp, is an old, rust-covered bunny who drives a drill mech and has a past he’d rather bury. But when he discovers traces of his missing daughter in the depths of a structure known as “Chimney Hill,” everything changes. His journey into the heart of this ruin is more than a quest it’s a reckoning.

Alongside the scavenger crew “BB Corps,” Stamp’s journey leads him through collapsed tunnels, mysterious data logs, and echoing ghosts of the past. The farther he drills, the closer he gets to truths that threaten to shatter the world he believed in.

Gameplay: Smash, Dash, and Upgrade Through the Ruins

Rusty Rabbit is best described as an emotionally charged metroidvania with fast-paced, smash-and-dash gameplay. But there’s more beneath the surface literally and mechanically.

1. Drill-Powered Exploration

Stamp pilots a retrofitted drill mech that doesn’t just look cool it’s essential for gameplay. Tearing through rock, boosting across ledges, and smashing through obstacles feels tactile and kinetic. Movement is buttery smooth, and once you get into the rhythm, every wall broken feels like a victory.

2. Build Your Bunny Mech

Scavenging isn’t just for lore it’s also for survival. Parts you gather in the ruins let you upgrade your robot suit. From speed and maneuverability to armor and attack strength, Rusty Rabbit gives you agency in how you play.

3. Secrets Behind Every Wall

Chimney Hill isn’t just one massive labyrinth it’s a puzzle box. Environmental storytelling and optional paths make exploration feel rewarding. Some areas are locked behind upgrades, inviting you to return later and dig even deeper—both into the world and your emotions.

Writing That Hits Hard Gen Urobuchi Does It Again

If you know Gen Urobuchi, you know he doesn’t do simple. Every story he writes has layers. And Rusty Rabbit is no exception.

Stamp isn’t a typical hero. He’s not young, he’s not fearless, and he’s not okay. He’s broken, and his journey isn’t about becoming a legend it’s about redemption. It's about remembering why he started digging in the first place.

And the world he explores? It reflects that same emotional decay corroded steel, failed machines, broken systems. Yet, in all that ruin, there are flickers of hope. It’s haunting and beautiful.

What About Multiplayer?

This one’s a solo ride. Rusty Rabbit is designed as a single-player experience. The solitude serves the story it’s you, Stamp, and your past, with no one else to save you but yourself.

No DLC Yet, But Keep Your Drill Ready

As of now, there are no announced DLCs or expansions. But knowing Nitro Plus’s track record, future content isn’t off the table. Whether it’s alternate endings, prequel chapters, or customization packs, we wouldn't be surprised to see more content surface if the game gains traction.

Final Thoughts: Digging Through Rust, Digging Through Grief

Rusty Rabbit is shaping up to be one of those rare games that catches you off guard not with flashy graphics or gimmicks, but with its heart.

It’s about a father’s desperate journey. It’s about memory, and loss, and the weight of time. It’s about smashing through walls both literal and emotional. And yes, it’s also about a bunny in a robot suit kicking mechanical ass.

If you like Hollow Knight, Ori and the Blind Forest, or Ender Lilies, but want something more grounded, raw, and resonant, Rusty Rabbit should be on your radar.

Are You Ready to Dig?

What are you most excited about in Rusty Rabbit?
Is it the fast-paced mech gameplay? The rich, emotional storytelling? Or just the novelty of playing a badass bunny?

Let us know in the comments.
